So the year is nearly finished, and we would like to thank all our clients, suppliers and freelance staff for such a great year. Swooshed has seen many changes throughout this year and is now more strongly positioned to assist clients in all production aspects whether it be just a simple PowerPoint presentation, a corporate video or a full blown conference.

We finished the year off with a conference and exhibition at Harrogate International Centre. This was a 2 day conference with 34 exhibitors for the insurance industry. It was a fantastic challenge and we split the team to deal with both elements of the event. Mike Lindsay organised the exhibition and James Fickling directed the conference. Both sides of this event went extremely smoothly and were problem free. The exhibition was received very well by the delegates and all the exhibitors were happy with the running of this event.

“A mixture of shell scheme stands and custom space’s worked really well in this venue. The main issues that I had to organise were the limited build time and the low ceiling in this exhibition hall. But with careful planning all these problems were overcome, oh and all the snow that we had did not help!”

Says MD Mike Lindsay.

Swooshed also provided exhibitors with all technical and furniture requirements as well as onsite support during the event..

In the auditorium, Director James Fickling organised all the technical aspects and the running of the conference. Providing the client with a slick and highly polished show was the main brief. Designing a stage that extended onto the existing Harrogate International Centre stage, allowing the speakers to get closer to the delegates was one main feature of the conference. Also following the client brief to keep the stage design within their event theme. MD James Fickling said,

“this conference was all about image. To achieve this the main projection screen was a key aspect, so we resorted to an 8 metre wide screen with 40 thousand lumens of HD projection to make the image bright and crisp! We also used the Barco Encore system to provide moving picture in picture which makes a massive difference on a screen this size”

The conference was closed by the high profile guest speaker Sir Ranulph Fiennes.

Pictures of this event will be in the gallery soon.

Finally we would like to wish you all a

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

World cup launches and road shows!

Once again it has been a busy few months for the team at Swooshed. February saw the global media launch event of the Nike football kits for the forthcoming world cup and Swooshed were commissioned to create the lighting design for the whole event. The launch which was attended by over300 worldwide members of the media, was organised by London based PR and communication company Slice and was held at the unusual venue of Battersea Power Station.

The event featured an exhibition of the “Nike Hall of Fame” as well as a stadium themed stage, set in front of the backdrop of the impressive ex power station chimneys. Both James Fickling and Mike Lindsay collaborated the lighting design for the event in order to effectively cover all the areas which also included lighting up the front of the building for a photo call with footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. The event proved to be a fantastic success with plenty of coverage by the key media members.

March and April has seen Swooshed racking up the miles on the road as we rolled out a CEO Roadshow for one of our existing clients. The events have been taking place in a variety of venues from offices to hotels to cinemas and football stadiums throughout the UK. This has enabled the CEO’s to meet all the members of their teams up and down the country and convey the key messages for the future. We have also produced a DVD and a web based video of the presentation and its content, to allow members of staff who were unable to attend the roadshow to watch the presentation at their convenience. With the final few stops of the roadshow been completed at the end of May, we have completed nearly 7000 miles!

The next few months are looking busy with more exciting news and events coming up, so come back soon for more information about Swooshed.

Swooshed Event Production lends support to Charity Walk.

We were recently delighted to be able to assist a long term client of ours, Annajane Thorpe of Towergate, with a planned sponsored walk in which she was taking part. The walk in question was the 3 Peaks Challenge. It was not only tough because of the three hills covered, but also due to the gruelling timescale of 24 hours in which it needed to be completed.

This is where Swooshed came to Annajane’s aid. Directors, Mike Lindsay and James Fickling, offered to drive Annajane and her party from Ben Nevis in Scotland, through the night to Scarfell Pike in the Lake District, then onto Snowdon in Wales. The two of them shared the driving to allow the team maximum walking time and clocked up over 1000 miles in just 24 hours!

Not only were we glad to be able to help our client, it was made all the more worthwhile as the group were walking for an Ovarian Cancer charity. In lending our support to Annajane, she has been able to raise about £5000 for them.

Swooshed would like to take this opportunity to extend huge congratulations to Annajane and her team on a fantastic achievement!

A Busy Start to the New Year

January has been a busy time for the team at Swooshed, with our time divided between working on current projects and planning for future events for both our existing and new clients.

This months highlights include providing our on going production management services for the world famous dancer Sylvie Guillem and choreographer Russell Maliphant’s production of Push which is produced by Sadlers Wells Theatre, London. You can find out more information about the show here:

http://www.sadlerswells.com/show/Push-09

Push was performed at the Forum am Schlosspark in Ludwigsburg, Germany in front of a packed audience and as always with this production, was well received and a fantastic success.

We have also provided lighting design services on behalf of our clients for a number of car launch and networking events as well as providing full event production services for an annual financial sales kick off conference.

In addition we have been working on plans to update some of our back office procedures and systems in order to improve our efficiency even further in the future.

February is also looking like it's going to be a non stop month so check back soon for more news about events with Swooshed.
